It would not
be an exaggeration to say that "the history of APIA's lures is with the
punch line". When I became an ambassador, it was already in the
lineup, and since then, size, weight, shape and derivative models have been
developed one after another. The role of the flat head, which can be said
to be the identity of the punch line, is to "grab the flow", and it
must have solved the problem of "difficulty to approach" for many
anglers' sinking pencils.
The punch
line series is easy to use as a "lure that can be searched widely by
winding a large area" with a relatively heavy weight setting and a state
detection sensor called a flat head. However, in urban fields like my
hometown, there are situations where it is necessary to operate
"quickly" overall with the current lineup, such as small places and
shallow areas with a depth of 1 m or less, and it is not possible to match the
field. Ta. I want something that moves less, can attack slowly even in shallow
water, and responds to changes in the flow with high
sensitivity. Development of the “PUNCHLINE CURVY
70SS” began in order to solve the issues that arise
from this site.
A sinking
pencil that is honestly tailored to the scene
Based on a
compact body of 70mm that can be eaten in one bite, we have realized an
"ultra-sensitive body" that responds to slight changes in tidal
currents by securing plenty of buoyancy in the rear part.
Due to its shape, it is susceptible to lateral flow, so once it passes through
the twist, it will be affected by the flow, and it will behave like a small
fish that loses to the flow.
The flat head of PUNCHLINE70SS is set small so as not to bite water too
much. In upcross and horizontal retrieve, the line becomes slack because
it does not bite water. The slow S-shape makes it look glossy, while the
figure drifting naturally is a masterpiece. It is difficult for artificial
actions to be transmitted to the lure, eliminating the discomfort of the lure.
The weight
distribution was adjusted until the final stage of development, realizing the
"slowest sinking speed" and "horizontal posture fall" in
the series.
This makes it possible to use the "show" fall even in shallow areas
and areas where the flow is weak, and it is possible to quietly pour it into
the back of the light and dark shade while maintaining a beautiful horizontal
posture.
A minute upward flat surface is placed on the top of the flat head. This
flat surface receives water pressure from above and the balance of backward
buoyancy has succeeded in maintaining a beautiful horizontal swim posture even
during retrieve. Also, in high-speed retrieve, it is minnow-like, but
sometimes irregular actions can be activated.
Despite its fat body, the body is designed to eliminate air resistance as much
as possible, and the flight attitude is stable, so it has more than enough
flight distance.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the standard of modern lures that
combine "lightness and flight distance" has been raised by one rank.
Ability to
feed "outside consciousness"
This model is
also the lure that became the "most hits" among the three models that
were being developed at the same time. Especially impressive was the light
and dark part of autumn. I cast it with an upcross and poured it into the
light and dark part, and tried to see the reaction of the sea bass after entering
the dark side, but I got 3 bites in a row before I approached the light and
dark part.
It was clearly all "unexpected part-time job". This lure is
highly sensitive, so the power of nature leads to a bite, and the power to bite
is working in a part other than the human consciousness.
Unexpected part-time job occurs frequently after that. The "ability
to feed outside of consciousness" is so high that the experience value of
advanced players does not become an advantage.
PINCHLINE
"CURVY" 70SS is exactly "curvy". Form follows
function.
Although it is positioned as a derivative model of Punchline, it is a complete
zero start. It's not strange to say that I no longer have anything but a
crown. I have absolutely no desire to create a new model of punch line,
but my intention is to challenge myself to develop a new sinking pencil that
fits the site.
So why punchline? As I said at the beginning, for APIA, the punch line is
"history", that is, it is the "trajectory of challenge".
