SHIMANO MIRAVEL

Shimano expands its MagnumLite family of spinning reels with the introduction of Miravel, a performance-minded reel built upon a CI4+ body for reduced weight without sacrificing performance.

The newest addition to Shimano's MagnumLite series of spinning reels, Miravel is a lightweight yet powerful reel with fierce versatility for the multi-species angler. Built utilizing Shimano's legendary carbon-infused CI4+ body to provide a lightweight platform and increased sensitivity, the Miravel also features Shimano's MagnumLite rotor to allow for an effortless startup and quick hooksets. Sporting a trifecta of Shimano premium reel technologies — cold-forged HAGANE Gear, SilentDrive and X-Ship — provides durable gearing with tighter tolerances for smoother reeling performance. HAGANE GEAR

With amazing strength and durability, the HAGANE Gear is at the very heart of most Shimano reels. Shimano, through the application of state-of-the-art technologies, gives anglers the long-lasting smoothness and enjoyment that is felt when anglers first use a reel, over and over again. No cutting work is applied to the teeth of the drive gear during fabrication; instead, the entire surface is calculated in minute detail by a special 3D design and then formed by Shimano's cold-forging technology. The result is assured resilience. HAGANE Gear is the result of Shimano's endless pursuit for durability — this strength and power of forged metal continue to represent the fundamental concept of Shimano reels.

X SHIP

X SHIP provides improved gear performance. Large diameter drive gear, optimally positioned pinion gear and drive gear, and two points bearings supported pinion gear produce light reeling under load.

SILENTDRIVE

The basic design of the entire body and drive-related parts were reviewed one by one to reduce minute rattles, gaps, and shaking between parts down to the smallest detail. It provides smooth and quiet reel rotation.

MAGNUMLITE ROTOR

The MAGNUMLITE ROTOR is a low-inertia rotor using CI4 + construction. Not only is the overall weight reduced, but the operability and winding sensitivity of the lure are greatly improved.

COREPROTECT

The water-repellent treatment provides water-resistance even in the presence of minute gaps due to the water bead formation effect. The water resist effect can be improved without increasing rotational resistance. Furthermore, since there is no contact, there is no abrasion and the waterproofing effect lasts longer.

G FREE BODY

G FREE BODY technology has been developed to shift the reel's center of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the center of gravity closer to the angler’s hand, the G FREE BODY helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.

AR-C SPOOL

The spool has a special spool ring shape. This creates a rectifying effect on the line and realizes both suppression of line trouble and long casting performance.

CI4+

CI4 is a resin material reinforced with carbon fiber that is lighter and has a higher strength than conventional resin material. CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4 material.The rigidity and durability have been greatly improved from original CI4 material while maintaining the lightness of the material, making it possible to reduce the size and weight of the reel.
